MUMBAI, INDIA – Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar today unveiled a memorial dedicated to his former coach, Ramakant Achrekar, in Shivaji Park, Mumbai. The event was also attended by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray.
Achrekar, who passed away in January 2019, is credited with shaping the careers of numerous prominent cricketers, including Tendulkar, Vinod Kambli, and others. He received the prestigious Dronacharya Award in 1990 and the Padma Shri in 2010 for his contributions to the sport.
An emotional Tendulkar spoke at the ceremony, expressing his gratitude for Achrekar’s mentorship and calling the unveiling a momentous occasion.
