Kannur, Kerala – P.P. Naseema (49), former State Treasurer of the Women’s League and former President of the Ajanoor Panchayat, passed away on Thursday morning at a private hospital in Kozhikode following a battle with cancer. Ms. Naseema was also an Arabic teacher at Ajanoor Iqbal Higher Secondary School and had previously worked at the Bekal BRC.

A highly respected figure in the Kannur district, she played a significant role in strengthening the Women’s League. She held various positions within the organization, including Panchayat and Constituency-level positions, District President, General Secretary, and Vice President of the State Committee. She also served as a state-level office bearer of the Arabic Teachers’ Federation. A four-time member of the Ajanoor Panchayat governing body, representing Manickot, Kolayal, Barricad, and Chittari wards, she served as Panchayat President from 2015-2020.

She is survived by her husband, Mohammed Kunji Padal (former teacher), children Murshid Mansoor and Nasreen, son-in-law Noushad (Parayanganam), and several siblings. Her father, K.V. Muhammed, and mother, P.P. Ayesha, predeceased her.
