Tue Dec 03 14:10:33 UTC 2024: ## Mumbai Indians’ Dube and Suryakumar Power Team to Victory in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy
**Mumbai, December 3:** Shivam Dube and Suryakumar Yadav powered Mumbai to a commanding victory in their Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match against Services on Tuesday. The duo unleashed a spectacular display of power hitting, bolstering Mumbai’s total to 192/4 in 20 overs.
Dube, playing his first match after recovering from an injury sustained during the Duleep Trophy, smashed a breathtaking 71 off just 36 balls, including seven sixes and two fours. His strike rate soared to nearly 200, showcasing his explosive batting prowess. Suryakumar Yadav provided equally impressive support, scoring a 70-run knock off 46 balls, studded with seven fours and four sixes. Ajinkya Rahane (22) and captain Shreyas Iyer (20) also contributed to the total.
The Mumbai team, featuring several Indian national players including Dube, Yadav, Iyer, Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur, dominated the latter stages of the innings, with Dube and Suryakumar launching a brutal assault on the Services bowlers. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) even shared a video highlighting their electrifying partnership.
Dube’s performance is particularly significant given his recent injury layoff, which kept him out of the recent T20 series against Bangladesh and South Africa. His return to form bodes well for India, especially as his all-round abilities are highly valued by the national team. He was a part of India’s T20 World Cup squad and contributed positively in several matches. It remains to be seen if he will also bowl in upcoming matches.
