**Karnal, Haryana (November 29, 2024):** A joint operation by the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), the Mining Department, and the CM Flying Squad has resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of illegally stored building materials in Karnal’s Sector 4. The raid targeted contractors who violated Grade 4 pollution restrictions by openly storing construction materials on HSVP land.
Authorities confiscated approximately 290 metric tons of sand, 320 metric tons of dust, three trolleys, and four large loaders. HSVP SDO Subhash stated that the materials were stored illegally, and investigations are underway to identify and prosecute those responsible. The seized goods and vehicles will be confiscated, and the affected area will be sealed. The Mining Department’s Rohitas confirmed the illegal occupation of department land for the building material trade. Further action, including notices to those involved, is pending. This crackdown comes amidst rising pollution concerns in the state, with the administration taking steps to enforce environmental regulations.
