Tue Dec 03 13:31:18 UTC 2024: ## Pakistan Wins First Blind T20 World Cup
**New Delhi:** Pakistan has created history by winning its first Blind T20 World Cup, defeating Bangladesh by 10 wickets in a dominant final match. Bangladesh, batting first, managed 139 runs in their 20 overs. However, Pakistan chased down the target in just 11 overs without losing a single wicket. Captain Nisar Ali led the charge with an unbeaten 72, while Mohammad Safdar contributed a strong 47.
This victory is particularly significant as Pakistan remained undefeated throughout the tournament. Syed Sultan Shah, chairman of the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council, congratulated the team on their outstanding achievement. Pakistan’s bowlers also performed exceptionally well, with Babar Ali taking 2 wickets for 24 runs in his 4 overs, and Mohammad Salman and Matiullah each claiming a wicket.
The Blind T20 World Cup, inaugurated in 2012, has been previously dominated by India, who won in 2012, 2017, and 2022. However, India’s absence from this year’s tournament, due to the Indian government’s refusal to send their team to Pakistan, paved the way for Pakistan’s triumph. This win marks a significant turning point for Pakistan’s blind cricket team, breaking a streak of previous defeats.
