Tue Dec 03 09:31:10 UTC 2024: ## Rajasthan on Verge of Knockout Stage in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

**Rajkot, India:** Rajasthan is poised for a knockout berth in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 cricket tournament currently underway in Rajkot. The team, boasting a flawless 5-0 record, leads Group A with 20 points. This impressive run follows a nearly two-year hiatus for many young players in the team.

Rajasthan faces Punjab, currently fourth in Group A with 12 points, on Tuesday. Victory would secure their place in the knockout stages. The team boasts a strong line-up including experienced players like Deepak Chahar, Deepak Hooda, and Rahul Chahar, all of whom have represented India. While Rajasthan’s bowling attack has always been a strength, their batting has also performed exceptionally well, with contributions from Abhijeet Tomar, Kartik, Deepak Hooda, and Bharat Sharma at different times.

Following the Punjab match, Rajasthan will play Bengal in their final group game. Both matches are expected to be closely contested.

However, a gag order imposed by the RCA ad-hoc committee prevents players from speaking to the media. Team manager Gaurav Sharma confirmed this restriction when contacted.

Rajasthan’s impressive winning streak includes victories against Madhya Pradesh (by 6 wickets), Meghalaya (by 9 wickets), Hyderabad (by 24 runs), Mizoram (by 62 runs), and Bihar (by 108 runs).
