**Alappuzha, Kerala:** A horrific road accident in Alappuzha, Kerala, claimed the lives of five MBBS students late Monday night. The students were traveling in a car that collided with a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus around 10 PM. The impact of the collision was severe, leaving the car completely damaged. Emergency responders had to break the car windows to extract the occupants.
While the identities of the deceased have yet to be officially confirmed by police, reports indicate they were all studying MBBS at a government medical college. Two other occupants of the car survived but sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment. The exact cause of the accident is under investigation. The Karnataka cadre IPS officer, who hailed from Madhya Pradesh, was reportedly traveling to his first posting when a tire burst on his car, causing him to lose control and crash into a house and then a tree.
