**Alappuzha, Kerala:** Five first-year MBBS students from Vandanam Medical College tragically lost their lives in a head-on collision between a car and a bus in Kalarkode, Alappuzha, Kerala. Two other students sustained serious injuries in the accident, which occurred when a speeding KSRTC bus collided with their car.
The impact of the collision was so severe that the car was extensively damaged, requiring rescue workers to extricate the occupants. The deceased students have been identified as Muhsin Muhammed, Ibrahim, and Devan, among others. They hailed from various districts including Kozhikode, Kannur, Cherthala, and Lakshadweep. The two injured students are receiving treatment at Vandanam Medical College Hospital. Four passengers on the bus sustained minor injuries.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident, focusing on the possibility of speeding by the bus.
