Mon Dec 02 14:16:07 UTC 2024: ## Škoda Launches Kylaq Compact SUV in India, Targeting 100,000 Annual Sales

**Mumbai, December 2, 2024** – Škoda Auto India today launched its highly anticipated Kylaq compact SUV, marking its entry into the sub-4-meter segment. The Kylaq, priced competitively at ₹7,89,000 (ex-showroom), is set to become the brand’s most accessible model in India. Deliveries are slated to begin January 27, 2025.

Škoda aims to significantly boost its Indian market share with the Kylaq, projecting annual sales of 100,000 vehicles by 2026. This ambitious target follows a period of strong growth for the company, which doubled its sales figures in just two years (2022-2023).

The Kylaq boasts a powerful 1.0 TSI engine, delivering 85 kW of power and 178 Nm of torque, and achieving a top speed of 188 kph. Safety is a key feature, with over 25 active and passive safety features, including six airbags and electronic stability control. The vehicle is based on the same platform as the Kushaq and Slavia, both awarded a full 5-star safety rating by Global NCAP.

Designed and engineered in India, the Kylaq features a modern design language, a spacious interior with features like a 25.6 cm infotainment screen and ventilated front seats, and a generous 446-litre boot. Sustainable manufacturing practices were employed, with 30% of the Chakan plant’s energy coming from solar power, a figure Škoda aims to increase to 75% by 2026.

“The Škoda Kylaq represents a significant step in our India strategy,” said Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Škoda Auto. “India is a key market for our growth, and the SUV segment is crucial to our success.”

Bookings for the Kylaq are open now, and the company expects strong demand for its latest offering.
