**Hyderabad, December 2, 2024** – Jaiteerth R. Joshi, a renowned scientist from the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex (DRDL) in Hyderabad, assumed the role of Director General of BrahMos on December 1st. Joshi, an “Outstanding Scientist,” has a distinguished career marked by significant contributions to the design, development, and deployment of tactical missile systems. His leadership as programme director for the Long Range Surface to Air Missile (LRSAM) culminated in its successful commissioning. His accolades include the Scientist of the Year Award, the Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya Award, and the Distinguished Alumnus Award from NIT Warangal. He is also a Fellow of several prestigious scientific societies.
