Sun Dec 01 23:03:19 UTC 2024: ## Rajasthan Standardizes Half-Yearly Exams for Classes 9-12

**Alwar, Rajasthan:** For the first time, Rajasthan will conduct simultaneous half-yearly examinations for classes 9th to 12th across all government and private schools. The exams, previously scheduled from December 17th to 27th, have been rescheduled to avoid clashing with the winter break starting December 25th. This was announced following protests from teachers’ unions concerned about the original schedule.

The state education department has released a revised timetable. The exams will now be held in two shifts: 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM and 1:15 PM to 4:30 PM. The examination papers will be prepared at the state level, ensuring uniformity across the state. The schedule includes school-level and practical exams from December 12th. Specific exam timings vary by class and subject.

The change addresses concerns raised by the Rajasthan Senior Teachers’ Association, who successfully advocated for the revised schedule to prevent disruption of the winter holidays. The new system aims to create a standardized assessment process across the state’s schools.
