**Garhwa, December 2, 2024** – The 23rd Garhwa District Inter-School Cricket Tournament is set to begin on December 14th, announced organizers at a meeting held on Sunday at RKVS, Sonpurwa. The tournament, which has been running since 2000, will be divided into three groups: junior (classes 8 and below), senior (classes 10 and below), and girls (classes 10 and below).

The deadline for team registration is December 8th, with a registration fee of ₹3500. Teams must submit two photographs of each of their fifteen players, along with Aadhaar cards, school bonafide certificates, and UDISE code copies to the tournament treasurer, Kamlesh Dubey. The tournament’s patron, Alkh Nath Pandey, highlighted the event’s significance in fostering young talent and the growth of cricket in the region. He noted that it has become the largest such tournament in the state. Madan Prasad Kasheri, the president, emphasized that players from this tournament consistently represent the district and that Garhwa is the only place in the Palamu division to host a girls’ cricket tournament.

Various committees have been formed to ensure the smooth conduct of the tournament. The organizing committee includes Nanda Kumar Gupta (supervisor), Ashok Kumar Dubey, and Mujibuddin Khan.
