**Saharsa, Bihar:** A pall of grief has fallen over Fatehpur Padaria village in Saharsa after the tragic death of 2023 batch IPS officer Harshvardhan Singh. Singh, 28, died in a road accident in Karnataka on Sunday.
Singh, whose father is an SDM in Madhya Pradesh and brother is an IIT engineer preparing for the UPSC, was posted as an ASP in Hisal, Karnataka, after completing training in Mysore. Preliminary reports suggest his vehicle suffered a tire burst, resulting in a fatal accident about 10 kilometers from Hisal. The driver sustained serious injuries.
Singh’s body is being transported to Patna via air. The last rites are scheduled for Tuesday in his ancestral village. Saharsa police are awaiting the arrival of the body, and Simri Bakhtiyarpur’s SDPO Mukesh Kumar Thakur has confirmed that he is monitoring the situation and will be visiting the village.
