**NEW YORK, NY** – Thanksgiving took an unexpected turn for two Modern Family stars. Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Julie Bowen, who played siblings Mitchell and Claire on the hit sitcom, both found themselves in the emergency room with their children on Thanksgiving Day, November 28th.
Bowen, mother to three sons, posted a picture of one of her children outside an ER, captioning it, “It’s not a holiday without a trip to the ER. (He’s fine, btw) HAPPY THANKSGIVING.” Ferguson’s husband, Justin Mikita, commented, “Us too,” revealing that one of their two sons also required emergency medical attention.
Ferguson later shared a photo of his son in a hospital bed, expressing gratitude for the care received at Lennox Health in NYC and finding comfort in Bowen’s similar experience. He jokingly attributed his parenting wisdom to Bowen. Both families confirmed their children were fine following treatment.
Although the nature of the medical emergencies wasn’t disclosed, Ferguson’s subsequent Instagram story showed his son enjoying a front-row view of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, highlighting a happy ending to a stressful situation. Former co-star Sofía Vergara expressed concern, sending her well wishes.
