**Canberra, Australia:** India defeated Australia’s Prime Minister’s XI by six wickets in a warm-up match at Manuka Oval in Canberra on Sunday. Sam Constanti was named Player of the Match for his century.

Chasing a 241-run target, India got off to a good start with Yashasvi Jaiswal (45) and KL Rahul (27*), who retired hurt. Shubman Gill (50*), also retiring hurt, and Nitish Kumar Reddy (42) steadied the innings after the early dismissal of Jaiswal by Charlie Anderson. Captain Rohit Sharma’s failure (3 runs) added some drama, however, the team reached 256/5 in 46 overs thanks to contributions from Washington Sundar (37*) and Devdatt Padikkal (3*). Anderson took two wickets for the PM XI.

Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bowl. The Australian PM XI’s innings began poorly, losing two early wickets at 22 runs. Mohammed Siraj provided the first breakthrough, while Akash Deep claimed the second. A rain interruption briefly halted play. Upon resumption, Harshit Rana took four wickets in quick succession, including two bowled dismissals in one over. Sam Constanti top-scored with a century (107 runs), while Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja also claimed wickets for India. The PM XI were eventually bowled out for 240 runs in 43.2 overs.

The Indian bowlers performed well, with Harshit Rana taking four wickets, Akash Deep taking two, and Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Sundar, and Jadeja taking one each. This victory provides a positive boost to India’s confidence as they prepare for the upcoming Test series against Australia.
