**Toronto, Canada** – Arshdeep Singh Gill, alias Arsh Dalla, the alleged de facto leader of the banned Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), has been granted bail by a Canadian court. This decision comes despite India’s ongoing efforts to extradite Dalla, who is wanted on over 50 charges including murder, attempted murder, extortion, and terrorism financing.
Dalla, who was arrested in October following a shooting incident in Halton, Ontario, was released on a $30,000 surety bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for February 24, 2025. Indian officials expressed disappointment but confirmed they will continue to pursue extradition through Canadian authorities.
The Indian government has designated Dalla a terrorist and highlighted his alleged links to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). They believe he assumed leadership of the KTF following the assassination of Hardeep Nijjar in June 2023. The NIA has also filed multiple cases against him.
Dalla’s arrest followed an incident where he and an associate, Gurjant Singh, were injured. Initial reports of an attack were later disputed, leading to a search of their vehicle and residence, which uncovered a cache of weapons, including handguns and rifles. Both men were charged with illegal weapons possession and evidence tampering.
Prior to his alleged involvement in terrorism, Dalla was a gangster in Punjab, India, before relocating to Canada in 2020. Indian authorities claim he recruited members for his terror network through social media. The bail decision has sparked renewed debate regarding Canada’s extradition process and its handling of individuals accused of terrorism.
