Sun Dec 01 00:50:00 UTC 2024: ## TDP Leader Defies Chandrababu Naidu in Fly Ash Dispute

**Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh:** A dispute over the lucrative wet fly ash byproduct from a power plant in Kadapa district has escalated, with JC Prabhakar Reddy, a prominent Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader, openly defying even party chief Chandrababu Naidu.

The conflict centers on the control of wet fly ash, which generates an estimated ₹200,000 daily profit. While dry fly ash is sold commercially, wet fly ash is currently free, sparking a power struggle between several TDP and BJP leaders, including JC Prabhakar Reddy, Jammalamadugu MLA Adinarayana Reddy (BJP), and another TDP leader, Bhupesh Reddy. They are vying for control of the wet fly ash distribution.

Prabhakar Reddy’s demand is to exclusively control the distribution and relocate its sale, indicating his disregard for the other leaders’ claims. Minister Gottipati Ravikumar and Nara Lokesh initially attempted mediation, but failed. Chandrababu Naidu subsequently summoned all three leaders to his office to resolve the matter. However, JC Prabhakar Reddy, citing illness, refused to attend and instead sent a letter outlining his demands.

This defiance has raised questions about Prabhakar Reddy’s loyalty to the party and whether Chandrababu Naidu’s authority within the TDP is waning. Speculation is rife whether Naidu will address the situation during his upcoming visit to Anantapur district for pension distribution. The incident highlights a growing internal conflict within the TDP and the potential consequences of unchecked ambition within the party.
