NEW DELHI, November 30, 2024 – Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the imminent launch of the “Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana,” a scheme providing a monthly allowance of Rs 1000 to women in Delhi. The scheme, a key AAP election promise, will soon open for registration.
Eligibility requires Delhi residency and voter registration; those lacking voter registration will receive assistance from their local MLA. The allowance is targeted at women aged 18 to 60 with an annual income below Rs 2.5 lakh and who do not own a four-wheeler. Women over 60 are excluded due to existing pension schemes.
The scheme’s draft is nearing completion and is awaiting final approval before being submitted to the finance department. Kejriwal assured women at an AAP padyatra that the registration process will begin soon and the funds will be directly deposited into their accounts.
