Wed Nov 27 23:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Hurricanes’ Necas to Lead Offense Against Rangers, Martin to Start in Goal

**RALEIGH, NC** – Carolina Hurricanes star Martin Necas will look to continue his hot streak against the New York Rangers on Wednesday. Necas, currently tied for the NHL scoring lead with 35 points in 21 games, scored the game-winning goal in Monday’s victory over Dallas. His performance marks the first time a Hurricane has led the NHL in scoring since Rod Brind’Amour in 2006. The Canes will also rely on the offensive contributions of Sebastian Aho and Seth Jarvis, who combined for seven points in the last game.

Goaltender Spencer Martin is expected to start his second consecutive game for Carolina, as starting goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov remains in concussion protocol, though he is showing signs of improvement and was able to skate today. Kochetkov’s return remains without a timetable. The Hurricanes will be without Frederik Andersen (knee) and Jesper Fast (neck) for the foreseeable future. The game is set for 7:00 PM at PNC Arena.
