**New Delhi, India** – Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) launched two new electric scooters today, the Activa e and the QC 1, aiming to capitalize on India’s rapidly growing two-wheeler market. Bookings for both scooters will open in January 2025, with deliveries commencing in February. Pricing details have not yet been released.
The QC 1, designed specifically for the Indian market, is ideal for short-distance travel. It features a 1.5 kW fixed battery offering a range of up to 80 km and a top speed of 50 km/h. Convenience features include a 5-inch LCD instrument panel, 26 liters of under-seat storage, and a USB Type-C socket. It will be available in five colors.
The Activa e, a significant departure from its petrol-powered namesake, boasts a redesigned front end with dual LED headlights and LED DRLs. Powered by two 1.5 kW swappable batteries, it promises a range of 102 km on a full charge. Three riding modes – Eco, Standard, and Sport – are offered, with the Sport mode enabling a top speed of 80 km/h and 0-60 km/h acceleration in 7.3 seconds. Advanced features include a 7-inch TFT display connectable to the Honda RoadSync Duo smart app and an H-Smart key system with smart find, safe, unlock, and start functionalities. It will also be available in five colors.
Both scooters come with a three-year or 50,000 km warranty and three free services in the first year.
HMSI’s Managing Director, President & CEO, Atsumu Otani, stated that the launch aligns with the company’s “Triple Action to Zero” commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2025, focusing on carbon neutrality, clean energy, and resource circulation.
