Tue Nov 26 17:04:17 UTC 2024: ## Telangana Power Officials Arrested for Bribery

**Hyderabad, November 26, 2024** – Two officials of the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) were arrested on Tuesday by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for accepting bribes. Assistant Engineer Bal Ram Naik and Line Inspector B. Hemanth Naik, both stationed in Ghatkesar mandal, were apprehended for demanding and receiving ₹10,000 and ₹5,000 respectively.

The bribe was allegedly solicited in exchange for approving a line clearance to shift an 11 KV wire and provide a new connection for a resident of Yamnampet, B. Mahesh. Mahesh was arrested while receiving the bribe money on behalf of the officials. The recovered funds were seized, and all three individuals were presented before a special court in Nampally. The ACB investigation is ongoing.
