**Hyderabad, November 27, 2024** – Kerala bounced back from a recent defeat to claim an emphatic 8-wicket victory over Nagaland in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament today. A dominant bowling performance, spearheaded by Basil N P (3/16) and Basil Thampi (2/27), restricted Nagaland to a paltry 120/8 in their 20 overs. Shamphri top-scored for Nagaland with 32 runs.

Kerala’s chase was equally impressive, reaching the target in just 11.2 overs. Rohan S Kunnummal smashed a quickfire 57 off 28 balls, while Sachin Baby remained unbeaten on 48 from 31 deliveries. Despite the absence of captain Sanju Samson, Kerala’s batting lineup showcased its strength. Interestingly, IPL auction star Vishnu Vinod, who fetched a hefty Rs 95 lakh bid from Punjab Kings, was dismissed cheaply for just two runs. Sachin Baby was also picked up in the recent IPL auction by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 30 lakh. Rohan Kunnummal was not selected in the auction.

This win marks Kerala’s return to form after a narrow loss to Maharashtra in their previous match. They had begun the tournament with a victory over Services.
