**East London, South Africa –** England’s women’s cricket team has stormed back from their early World Cup exit, securing a resounding victory over South Africa in the first T20I of their three-match series. This win propelled several key players up the latest ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings.

All-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt led the charge, scoring a crucial 59 runs and earning Player of the Match honors. This performance boosted her two places to 14th in the T20I batter rankings. Her half-century partnership with wicketkeeper Amy Jones, who climbed one spot to 29th, proved instrumental in England’s successful chase.

England’s dominance extended to the bowling ranks. Sophie Ecclestone cemented her position at the top of the T20I bowler rankings with an economical spell, while Charlie Dean jumped four places to 15th after a two-wicket haul.

Despite the loss, South Africa’s Nadine de Klerk saw significant ranking improvements. Her unbeaten 29 runs and two wickets earned her a four-spot jump to 37th in the T20I bowler rankings and a two-place rise to 11th in the all-rounder rankings.

While Australia’s Beth Mooney and Tahlia McGrath retained the top two spots in the batter rankings, and South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt remained third, England’s strong performance highlights their resurgence after a disappointing World Cup. The series continues with England holding a 1-0 lead.
