Wed Nov 27 10:12:10 UTC 2024: ## Islamabad Violence Escalates Amidst Pakistan’s Political Crisis; 10 Dead

**ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN (Nov 27, 2024)** – Violence has intensified in Islamabad, Pakistan, amidst escalating political instability. At least 10 people, including a PTI leader, have been killed in the widespread unrest gripping the nation.

Abdul Qadir Khan, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) councilor, was shot and killed late last night, according to reports. Several others were injured in clashes in the Blue Area of the capital and are receiving hospital treatment.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan expressed grief over Khan’s death on X (formerly Twitter), blaming the government for the violence. Information Minister Atta Tarar, meanwhile, accused Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, of inciting the unrest, claiming she’s continuously urging supporters to continue protests against the government.

Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) have taken control of areas from D-Chowk to China Chowk on Jinnah Avenue, relocating Bushra Bibi’s convoy to 7th Avenue. Due to the volatile situation, authorities have closed major markets and areas including F-6 Super Market, F-7 Jinnah Super Market, and several others in F-10, F-11, G-6, G-7, and G-8, with closures expected to continue today.

Tensions remain high in Islamabad as clashes between PTI supporters and security forces continue. The city is experiencing a tense atmosphere, with large crowds of protesters confronting government restrictions. Despite the government’s efforts to maintain order, PTI supporters’ anger shows no sign of abating.

The incident has further destabilized the country’s already volatile political climate. The death of Abdul Qadir Khan and the closure of businesses have exacerbated the alarming situation in Islamabad. The ongoing verbal sparring between Bushra Bibi and the government further fuels concerns of escalating violence.
