**MUMBAI, INDIA – November 27, 2024** – Ola Electric has unveiled its first business-oriented electric scooter, the Ola Gig, set to compete with services like Yulu. Available in two variants, the Gig and Gig+, the scooters will be priced at ₹39,999 and ₹49,999 respectively, with deliveries beginning in April 2025.
The Gig boasts a single seat and large rear carrier, designed for commercial use. The base model, Gig, features a 250-watt motor with a 25kph top speed, exempting it from registration requirements. The Gig+ offers a more powerful 1.5kW motor and a 45kph top speed, requiring registration.
Both models utilize a removable 1.5kWh battery pack, expandable to two packs for the Gig+. Ola claims a range of 112km for the Gig and 81km-157km for the Gig+, depending on battery configuration. While app-based access is confirmed, charging times remain unspecified. Further details, including dimensions and weight capacity, are yet to be released. Ola has only shared digital renderings at this time.
