Mumbai, India – Mahindra & Mahindra has launched two highly anticipated electric SUVs in the Indian market: the BE.06 and the XUV.e9. The BE.06 is priced at ₹18.9 lakh (approximately $228,000 USD), while the XUV.e9 is priced at ₹21.9 lakh (approximately $265,000 USD), both ex-showroom. Bookings will open soon.
Both SUVs are built on Mahindra’s INGLO platform. The BE.06 offers a choice of 59kWh and 79kWh battery packs, producing 221bhp and 281bhp respectively, with both delivering 380Nm of torque. The larger battery boasts an ARAI-certified range of 682 kilometers and can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds.
The BE.06 boasts features such as multi-zone climate control, three drive modes, wireless phone charging, dual 12.3-inch floating screens, a panoramic sunroof, connected car technology, an AI interface, seven airbags, and an ADAS suite.
The XUV.e9, also based on the INGLO platform, features a 59kWh battery pack generating 228bhp, with an ARAI-certified range of 656 kilometers and a similar 20-minute 20-80% fast-charging capability. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.8 seconds.
The XUV.e9 includes a flat-bottom steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, three screens, a rotary dial, electronic parking brake, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, auto park function, mobile projection, and six airbags.
The launch comes amidst political developments in Maharashtra, where Devendra Fadnavis is reportedly the frontrunner for the Chief Minister position following the BJP’s victory in the state assembly elections. However, the party is yet to make a final decision.
