NEW DELHI – Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has officially launched its first electric two-wheeler in the Indian market, the Honda Activa e. Available in two variants, Standard and Sync Duo, the scooter boasts a swappable dual battery system offering a claimed range of 102 km on a full charge. Pricing will be revealed on January 1st, with bookings opening the same day and deliveries commencing from February 2025. Initial sales will be concentrated in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

The Activa e’s 1.5 kWh dual batteries, branded Honda Mobile Power Pack e, are developed and maintained by Honda Power Pack Energy India. Battery swapping stations are already operational in Delhi and Bengaluru, with Mumbai locations planned. Power comes from a 6 kW fixed magnet synchronous electric motor producing 22 Nm of torque. Three riding modes (Econ, Standard, Sport) are available, enabling a top speed of 80 kmph and 0-60 kmph acceleration in 7.3 seconds.

The scooter features Honda RoadSync Duo smartphone connectivity for various controls via a 7-inch TFT screen with navigation support. Smart features include Smart Find, Smart Safe, Smart Unlock, and Smart Start via Honda’s H-Smart key. Other features include 12-inch alloy wheels with telescopic forks and dual springs, and disc-drum braking. The Activa e comes in five colors: Pearl Shallow Blue, Pearl Misty White, Pearl Serenity Blue, Matt Foggy Silver Metallic, and Pearl Igneous Black.

The Activa e will compete with established electric scooter models from Ola Electric, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and Ather Energy.
