**New Delhi, India** – Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) today unveiled its first electric scooters for the Indian market: the Activa e and the QC1. The Activa e features a swappable battery system, while the QC1 offers a fixed battery.
The Activa e, available in two variants, boasts a redesigned look while maintaining the familiar Activa frame. Key features include LED headlights with turn indicators and DRLs, a long seat with a small floorboard, and a swappable 1.5 kWh dual-battery setup. Its electric motor delivers a peak power output of 4.2 kW (5.6 bhp), boosting to 6.0 kW (8 bhp), and Honda claims a range of 102 km on a single charge. Three riding modes (Standard, Sport, and Econ) are available. Pricing and bookings for the Activa e will open in January 2024.
The QC1, launching in summer 2024, shares a similar design with the Activa e but lacks DRLs. It uses a fixed 1.5 kWh battery with a dedicated charger and offers a claimed range of 80 km. Powering the scooter is a compact in-wheel motor with an output of 1.2 kW (1.6 bhp) to 1.8 kW (2.4 bhp). Both scooters include a 5-inch LCD instrument panel and under-seat storage.
Initially, the Activa e will be available in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, with a phased rollout to other cities planned. These are Honda’s 12th and 13th electric vehicle models globally.
