Wed Nov 27 00:38:11 UTC 2024: ## Pakistan Cruises to 10-Wicket Win Over Zimbabwe in ODI Series Leveller

**BULAWAYO, Zimbabwe** – Saim Ayub’s blistering maiden ODI century powered Pakistan to a dominant 10-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the second ODI on Tuesday, leveling the three-match series. Ayub’s unbeaten 113 off just 62 balls, featuring 17 fours and three sixes, propelled Pakistan to a comfortable 148-0 in 18.2 overs, achieving the third-fastest century in Pakistan’s ODI history.

This win comes after Pakistan’s shocking 80-run defeat in the rain-shortened first match. Abrar Ahmed’s impressive debut ODI performance (4-33) and Salman Ali Agha’s 3-26 helped restrict Zimbabwe to a paltry 145 in 32.3 overs despite winning the toss and electing to bat. While Dion Myers briefly threatened with a 33-run cameo, the rest of the Zimbabwean batting lineup struggled against Pakistan’s spin attack.

Zimbabwe’s captain, Craig Ervine, acknowledged his team’s failure to build substantial partnerships, stating they need to “take a hard look at themselves.” He also hinted that bowling first might have been a better strategic choice.

Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan lauded Ayub’s exceptional innings and his team’s strong bowling performance. Ayub’s impressive century, which included a six to reach his half-century, overshadowed Abdullah Shafique’s contribution at the other end. The series concludes with the final ODI on Thursday, followed by a three-match T20 series.
