The Hurricanes secured the final playoff spot in a nail-biting finish to the regular season. Both teams boast strong batting lineups; the Thunder’s Voll and Litchfield, and the Hurricanes’ Lee, Villani, and Carey all featured prominently in the top ten run-scorers. However, the Thunder’s bowling attack, led by Samantha Bates (19 wickets), appears to hold a significant advantage over the Hurricanes’ more evenly distributed bowling efforts.
The Thunder and Hurricanes have a recent history of close encounters, with each team winning one of their two previous matches this season.
