NEW DELHI: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) today launched two electric scooters in the Indian market: the Honda Activa E and the Honda QC1. The Activa E, a direct competitor to Ola’s S-1, boasts a range of 102 kilometers and features two swappable batteries. Pricing details for the Activa E have not yet been released. Both the Activa E and QC1 incorporate Honda’s Road Sync DyO app.
The Honda QC1 offers a range of 80 kilometers and comes equipped with a fixed 1.5 kWh battery pack. It features a 7.0-inch TFT screen with real-time connectivity through the Honda Road Sync DyO app.
The Activa E is packed with features including a large seat, smart key, USB-C port, hook, smart connectivity, built-in GPS, day and night modes, and navigation. It also sports LED headlights with turn indicators on both sides, a dual-tone seat, 12-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a flat footboard, and a sturdy grab rail. Power output is 4.2 kW (5.6 bhp), expandable to 6.0 kW, and it offers three riding modes: Standard, Sport, and Econ. Bookings for the Activa E will open on January 1st. The e-Activa features a traditional scooter design, unlike the petrol version. Color options include Pearl Jubilee White, Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic, and Premium Silver Metallic.
The Honda QC1, with its 80km range and 1.5 kWh battery, has a power output of 1.2 kW (1.6 bhp) and 1.8 kW (2.4 bhp). Charging time is 3 hours for 0-75% and 6 hours for a full charge using a standard charger.
