Tue Nov 26 19:20:00 UTC 2024: ## Heavy Rain and Severe Weather Warning Issued for Yamanashi Prefecture
**Kofu, Yamanashi Prefecture –** Yamanashi Prefecture is bracing for severe weather as a low-pressure system accompanied by a front moves across the Pacific side of Honshu. The Kofu Local Meteorological Observatory issued a warning urging residents to remain vigilant against heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail, particularly from now until the early hours of October 27th.
The observatory forecasts extremely unstable atmospheric conditions, leading to localized torrential downpours. The heaviest rainfall is expected in the Koryo and Fuji Five Lakes regions (up to 40mm per hour) and 30mm per hour in the eastern parts of the prefecture. There is also a significant risk of lightning, tornadoes, and hail.
Residents are advised to seek immediate shelter in sturdy buildings if they hear thunder or notice signs of approaching severe thunderstorms. Farmers are also urged to take precautions to protect their crops and agricultural facilities from potential hail damage.
