Trichy, Tamil Nadu – The Trichy district administration announced an increased monthly allowance for severely disabled individuals. Eligible recipients will now receive ₹2,000 per month, up from ₹1,500 under a previous social security scheme.
The enhanced assistance is available to individuals with over 75% disability affecting their limbs, those with muscular dystrophy, cured leprosy patients, individuals with mental retardation and spasticity, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson’s disease, and other chronic neurological disorders.
To apply, eligible individuals must submit their National Disability Identification Card, Unique Disability Identity Card, passport-size photograph, Aadhaar card, family card, and bank account details (nationalized bank) through the Tamil Nadu e-Sevai center online portal (https://www.tnesevai.tn.gov.in/citizen/Registration.aspx) under the “Maintenance Allowance” section. Those already receiving ₹1,500 can switch to the new ₹2,000 allowance online.
