Wed Nov 27 07:30:18 UTC 2024: **Honda Launches First Electric Two-Wheeler in India: Activa Electric**

NEW DELHI – Honda has officially launched its first electric two-wheeler in the Indian market, the Activa Electric, also known as Activa-e. The launch comes with two variants: Standard and Sync Duo. While pricing details are yet to be revealed, Honda announced that prices and bookings will open on January 1st, 2024, with deliveries commencing in February 2025. Initially, the Activa Electric will be available in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

The Activa Electric boasts a 1.5kWh dual swappable battery setup, providing a claimed range of 102 km on a full charge. These batteries, termed “Honda Mobile Power Pack e,” are developed and maintained by Honda Power Pack Energy India. Honda has already established battery-swapping stations in Delhi and Bengaluru, with Mumbai stations planned for the near future.

Powering the vehicle is a 6kW fixed magnet synchronous electric motor generating 22Nm of peak torque. Three riding modes—Eco, Standard, and Sport—are available, allowing for a top speed of 80 km/h and a 0-60 km/h acceleration time of 7.3 seconds.

The Activa Electric features a 7-inch TFT screen with navigation support controlled via handlebar toggle switches, along with day and night modes. Honda’s H-Smart features, including Smart Find, Smart Safe, Smart Unlock, and Smart Start, are also integrated. The scooter is equipped with 12-inch alloy wheels, telescopic forks, dual springs, and a disc-drum braking combination. Five color options are available.

The Activa Electric will compete with electric two-wheelers from Ola Electric, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and Ather Energy.
