Tue Nov 26 11:54:31 UTC 2024: ## Pakistani Spinner Abrar Ahmed Makes History with ODI Debut Four-Wicket Haul

**Bulawayo, Zimbabwe –** Abrar Ahmed etched his name into Pakistani cricketing history on Tuesday, becoming only the fourth Pakistani bowler to claim a four-wicket haul on his One Day International (ODI) debut. The 26-year-old spinner’s impressive figures of 4 for 33 in eight overs helped bowl out Zimbabwe for a paltry 145 in the second ODI at the Queens Sports Club.

Ahmed’s performance, only bettered by Zakir Khan’s record-breaking 4 for 19 in 1984, was crucial in Pakistan’s turnaround after a heavy loss in the first ODI. He joins an elite group alongside Khan, Abdul Qadir, and Sarfaraz Nawaz as Pakistani debutants achieving this feat.

The debutant, who also played a role in triggering a Zimbabwean batting collapse after they were 61/2, struck early, dismissing opener Joylord Gumbie, before cleaning up the tail. His wickets included those of Brian Bennett, Brandon Mavuta, and Richard Ngarava.

Ahmed’s impressive international career already includes eight Test matches and three T20 Internationals, where he has accumulated an impressive 41 wickets, including four four-wicket hauls and two five-wicket hauls. His debut performance signals a promising addition to the Pakistan ODI team. The victory was a much-needed response for Pakistan following their previous defeat.
