Tue Nov 26 07:40:00 UTC 2024: ## AP Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan Addresses Concerns Over Police Inefficiency in Delhi
**NEW DELHI, November 26, 2024** – Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, currently in Delhi for political engagements, faced questions from Telugu media regarding the apparent lack of efficiency in the state police force. The questioning centered around the ongoing failure to apprehend film director Ram Gopal Varma (RGV), who is wanted for allegedly posting offensive morphed images.
Reporters highlighted a perceived contrast between the perceived effectiveness of the police under the previous YSR Congress Party (YCP) government and the current situation, citing RGV’s continued evasion as a prime example. They also pointed to the release of a suspect accused of pelting stones at TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu.
Kalyan, while acknowledging the concerns, deflected direct responsibility, stating that as Deputy CM and Minister for Panchayat Raj, he is not responsible for the police department. He pledged, however, to raise these issues with the Chief Minister and Home Minister for their consideration. He committed to bringing the concerns regarding both RGV’s evasion and the release of the suspect accused of assaulting Naidu to the cabinet for discussion.
The irony was not lost on the media, considering RGV’s past history of posting objectionable images targeting Kalyan, Naidu, and Lokesh during the YCP’s tenure. The ongoing investigation into RGV’s actions, and the broader questions about police efficacy, remain unresolved.
