**Bengaluru, India –** A young woman from Assam, Maya Gogoi, was found dead in a Bengaluru service apartment, leading to the arrest of her boyfriend, Aarav Harni, on suspicion of murder. Gogoi, who worked at a private firm in HSR Layout, was last seen alive on Saturday, November 23rd, entering the Indiranagar apartment with Harni, appearing cheerful in CCTV footage.
However, three days later, on November 26th, Gogoi’s decomposed body was discovered in the same apartment. Police say Harni allegedly stabbed Gogoi to death on Monday, November 25th, and remained in the apartment with her body for an entire day before leaving on Tuesday. Crime scene photos revealed bloodstains on bedding.
CCTV footage corroborates Harni’s presence and the absence of any other individuals in the apartment between the 23rd and 26th. Police are investigating whether Harni intended to dismember the body before disposing of it, given his prolonged presence with the remains. Harni is currently the prime suspect and is in police custody. The investigation is ongoing.
