Tue Nov 26 09:30:34 UTC 2024: ## Kurnool Seeks Krishna River Management Board Office

**KURNOOL, November 26, 2024** – The Kurnool district Irrigation Advisory Board (IAB) unanimously passed a resolution Tuesday demanding the establishment of the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) office in Kurnool. This decision reverses a previous proposal by the YSRCP government to locate the office in Visakhapatnam, a plan which had been approved by the Union Jal Shakti Ministry but met with opposition.

The IAB meeting, chaired by District Collector P. Ranjit Basha and attended by Minister TG Bharat and other officials, also addressed crucial irrigation matters. It approved the release of irrigation water to 45,000 acres for the upcoming rabi crop season, starting December 10th and continuing until the end of March. Furthermore, an action plan will be developed to mitigate potential water scarcity next summer. Finally, water will be released from the Gajuladinne project until November 30th to serve its designated irrigation area.
