**Perth, Australia:** India ended day one of the first Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test against Australia in a commanding position despite a first-innings collapse. After being bowled out for 150, India’s bowlers took seven Australian wickets for just 67 runs, leaving India with an 83-run lead.
Rishabh Pant played a crucial role in India’s first innings, scoring 37 runs off 78 balls, including one six and three fours, in a vital 48-run partnership with Nitish Reddy for the seventh wicket. This innings was a historic milestone for Pant, making him the first wicketkeeper in World Test Championship (WTC) history to surpass 2000 runs.
