**CHENNAI, November 23, 2024** – Puzhal police have arrested two men in connection with the theft of jewellery from the Angala Parameswari temple. The theft, reported on November 17th, included a gold amulet and necklace.
The arrested individuals, identified as R. Kalaiselvan (29) and K. Murugan (38), were apprehended following an investigation launched after temple priest S. Prakash reported the crime. Police recovered the stolen jewellery and a two-wheeler believed to have been used in the theft.
Both suspects have extensive criminal records. Kalaiselvan has ten prior charges, including murder, attempted murder, robbery, and theft, while Murugan has 26 previous bookings, primarily for robbery and theft. Both have been remanded in judicial custody.
