**Hubballi, Karnataka –** Union Minister Pralhad Joshi declared the Congress party a “sinking ship” on Saturday, citing the recent Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly election results. He argued that the Congress’s poor performance has dragged down allied regional parties, including Sharad Pawar’s NCP and Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, and narrowly avoided sinking the JMM in Jharkhand.
While acknowledging the BJP’s own setback in Jharkhand, Joshi attributed the Congress’s success in recent Karnataka by-elections to factors like the ruling party advantage and alleged misuse of administrative resources, including the distribution of money and liquor. He stated that the BJP will analyze the by-election losses.
Joshi further criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, calling him a “failed leader” and dismissing Sonia Gandhi’s efforts to revitalize the party. He claimed that despite attempts to reposition the party and relaunch Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, the Congress has failed to gain traction.
