**Mumbai, November 23, 2024** – Initial results from the Nanded Lok Sabha bypoll in Maharashtra show BJP candidate Santukrao Hambarde leading Congress rival Ravindra Chavan by 839 votes. With 87,610 votes counted for Hambarde and 86,771 for Chavan, the race remains tight. The by-election was necessitated by the death of sitting Congress MP Vasant Chavan in August. Ravindra Chavan is Vasant Chavan’s son. The seat has seen a shift in political dynamics since the 2019 election, with significant changes in party affiliations among key players.
