**Ranchi, Jharkhand –** The Jharkhand Assembly election results will be announced this Saturday, November 23rd, bringing to a close a closely contested campaign between the ruling JMM-led INDIA bloc and the BJP-led NDA. Voting took place across the state’s 81 seats over two phases on November 13th and 20th. The count begins at 8 am, with results expected by the afternoon. The same day will also see results declared for Maharashtra Assembly elections and by-polls in 15 other states.
Both the INDIA and NDA alliances engaged in intense campaigning throughout the state. While Congress leader Rajesh Thakur expressed confidence in a Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) victory, BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo countered, predicting an NDA majority government. Thakur noted discrepancies in BJP’s own seat projections, ranging from 65 to 55 seats.
Exit polls have offered conflicting predictions, with four suggesting a BJP-led NDA victory, while one favored the JMM-led alliance. However, it’s important to note that exit polls are not always accurate.
Live coverage of the results will be available on NDTV news channel, YouTube channel, NDTV.com, and across social media platforms. Real-time updates will also be provided on the Election Commission of India (ECI) website: https://results.eci.gov.in.
