**Mumbai, India** – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led alliance is projected to win a landslide victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, securing a commanding lead over the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). Early results show the Mahayuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction), leading in over 218 of the 288 seats.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who is maintaining a substantial lead in his Nagpur South West constituency, received a heartwarming congratulatory call from his mother, Sarita Fadnavis, a moment captured on video and widely shared on social media.

The BJP is leading in approximately 124 seats, nearing the 144-seat majority mark on its own. The Shiv Sena and NCP are projected to win a significant number of seats as well. In contrast, the MVA, consisting of the Congress, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction), and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), is far behind, leading in only around 50 seats.

BJP leader Pravin Darekar has called for Fadnavis to be appointed Chief Minister, arguing that the party with the most seats should lead the government. This election win marks a significant rebound for the BJP after facing setbacks in recent Lok Sabha elections. The final results are still being tallied, but the BJP-led alliance’s victory appears certain.
