**Kozhikode, Kerala, November 23, 2024** – The Kozhikode theatre community is hosting a special event this Saturday at the Vadakara Town Hall to commemorate the 50th anniversary of playwright Thayyullathil Rajan’s celebrated play, “Nirvanam.” The event will feature the release of a new six-language edition of the play, along with memoirs from those involved in its production over the years.
Singer V.T. Murali will inaugurate the memoir sharing session at 3 p.m., with director Manoj Narayanan presiding. Actor Indira Nair will release the new multilingual edition of “Nirvanam,” presenting a copy to T.P. Achuthan, the lead actor in the play’s first performance. Kannada writer H.S. Umesha will inaugurate the book release, with social critic N. Sugathan presiding. Writer Jayan Sivapuram will deliver the keynote address. The day will conclude with a stage performance of “Nirvanam,” a play based on the life of Buddha. The event promises a rich celebration of Rajan’s five decades of contribution to theatre.
