**New Delhi, November 23, 2024** – The counting of votes for the Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly elections is underway, with early trends indicating a strong lead for the BJP-led NDA in Maharashtra and the INDIA coalition in Jharkhand.

In **Maharashtra**, the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) alliance – referred to as the Maha Vikas Aghadi – is showing a significant lead, currently projected to secure a comfortable majority. However, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena suffered a major setback, with his son Aditya Thackeray trailing in the Worli constituency. In contrast, NCP leader Ajit Pawar holds a substantial lead in Baramati. Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis is also ahead in Nagpur South West.
