AMBALA, INDIA – Students from Police DAV Public School, Ambala City, have brought home the overall trophy from the All India Royal Challenge Cup Karate Championship. The competition, organized by the Traditional Shokai Karate Federation, took place at G.L.A. University in Mathura Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, from November 16th to 17th. Over 2,500 participants from across India competed.
The Ambala team secured a remarkable victory, winning 10 gold, 11 silver, and 10 bronze medals. Each winning student received a sports kit from the school.
Principal Dr. Vikas Kohli congratulated the students and their parents, encouraging them to continue their success and represent India internationally. He announced that the gold and silver medalists have been selected to represent India at the upcoming Malaysia International Karate Championship next year. Kohli also commended karate coaches Hemant Sharma and Preeti Sharma.
Some notable medal winners include gold medalists Tejas Sharma and Manmeet Singh; silver medalists Harman Singh, Aniruddha Bharadwaj, and Rudra Kumar; and bronze medalists Harkirat Singh, Gursevak, and Arnav Sharma.
