**Mumbai, November 21, 2024** – The Maharashtra Assembly elections have concluded, and the state awaits the results on November 23rd. While all parties express confidence in their victory, citing various reasons, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) appears to be in a strong position, according to exit polls.
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis attributed the NDA’s expected win to the high voter turnout. Official figures reveal a state-wide voter turnout of 65.11%, exceeding the initial estimates of 58.22%. Kolhapur district recorded the highest turnout at 76.25%, while Mumbai had the lowest at 52.07%.
Following the election, Fadnavis visited the RSS headquarters in Nagpur, meeting with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and former general secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi.
Exit polls suggest a decisive victory for the NDA, comprising BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP. One exit poll, Matrix, predicts the NDA securing 150-170 seats, compared to 110-130 for the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), which includes Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (SP). The remaining seats are projected to go to other parties. The actual results will be known on November 23rd.
