**Mumbai, Ranchi, India –** The counting of votes for the Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections is underway, with results expected to be finalized today. In Maharashtra, the Mahayuti (BJP-led) coalition is projected to win a resounding victory, already surpassing the 145-seat majority mark needed to form the government. Celebrations have erupted amongst BJP and Shiv Sena supporters as trends show a significant lead for the coalition. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s NCP is also showing strong performance.

The situation in Jharkhand is far more competitive, with a tight race between competing parties. The magic number to form a government in Jharkhand is 41 out of 81 seats.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is currently showing a significant lead in Wayanad.
