Sat Nov 23 07:35:40 UTC 2024: ## Congress Candidate Leads in Dosa By-Election Count
**Dosa, Rajasthan:** Congress candidate Dindayal Bairawa maintains a significant lead in the ongoing counting of votes for the Dosa Assembly by-election. With only a few rounds of counting remaining, Bairawa is currently ahead by over 2500 votes, making a BJP victory unlikely.
While BJP’s Jagmohan Meena briefly gained the lead in the 16th round, Bairawa has consistently held a substantial advantage throughout the counting process. His lead fluctuated, reaching a high of over 11,000 votes in earlier rounds before narrowing slightly in later stages. However, with the final rounds underway, Bairawa appears poised for victory.
Counting began at 8 AM at Pandit Naval Kishore Sharma Rajkiya PG College, utilizing 17 counting tables. A total of 18 rounds are scheduled to complete the count of votes from 12 candidates, cast by 153,278 voters out of a total electorate of 246,200 (62.30% voter turnout). Security measures include over 1000 personnel deployed and traffic restrictions around the counting center. The entire process, from the movement of EVMs to the final count, was monitored via CCTV. Initial trends showed Bairawa ahead in early rounds before Meena briefly took the lead in one round, but Bairawa ultimately regained and maintained a comfortable margin. The Congress party is jubilant over the strong lead indicated by the trends.
